So I recently made a Linux Box on an old Optiplex 520. I used Zorin OS and I have Windows 7 on my main machine. I have a Arris box that sends out wifi, and my main computer is connected to that. The Optiplex does not have a wifi card. Now both of the computers are right beside each other, about a foot apart. I want to use the internet on the main computer AND have it available on the other computer WHEN both computers are ON OR OFF. I have a few friends who make ethernet cables for class, and also made some crossover cables. My question is, can I use a regular cable or a crossover cable?
