I want to use my WNR1000 to connect my PC to another wireless network. The setup would be as follows:

Mac ethernet and other computers' ethernet > WNR1000 >WiFi > WiFi > ZyXel CenturyLink modem/router > Internet

I have seen other instructions on how to connect it via the Mac's wireless card to the WNR1000's wireless network, and then connect the WNR's ethernet to the centurylink modem. That's not what I want though.

I want to use my WNR1000 essentially as a wireless extender and plug my Mac's ethernet into it.

You need a router that supports Bridge mode, and this router does not support it
