Posted here before about this ages ago, making a new post to attract more attention and fresh ideas.
Issue is that whenever I turn my computer on, just after the "Loading windows" screen and just before the login screen appears, the computer will crash. Screen goes black and freezes, the monitors still detect a signal (as the lights flash with no signal eg comp is off)
Issue starts after updating/installing the ATI GPU drivers.
HOWEVER I have tried versions from 11.xx to 14.6 of CCC with all yielding the same results.
Memtest passed my RAM 5 times overnight, no issues.
Tested 6970 in another computer, worked perfectly
Tried a different PSU (which was higher than my current and functional for 4 years still is as well)
Tried 2 different GPUs (Geforce 9800 and a GT210)
Tried a different CPU (I5 2500K)
Tried different HDDs (Seagate, western digital, Samsung)
Tried reinstalling windows, twice (Windows 7 ultimate, both on different drives)
Replaced the motherboard (Intel H67 Micro ATX)
ALL THESE still present the same issue.
Specs:
PowerColor HD6970
ASUS - P8P67 LE
Antec NeoECO 620C (620W)
16GB Patriot (4 x 4GB)
I7-2600
