I have a Steel Series Siberia V2 Headset. I have been using it for a while and it has been fine for the most part. Once in a while, the mic completely stops working. It is very strange. I check the mic settings and they seem to be fine. I go to the microphone settings to see if any sound is being picked up. The sound bar goes up only when I mute and unmute the mic from the switch. Usually this goes away when I restart my computer. I've also noticed that this usually occurs when I am in a Skype call.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Steelseries mic's are known to be rather cheap from what I hear. It turned out to be true with mine as well I have pulled the manufacturer warranty on it from best buy. My new Siberia V2 Frost Blue hasn't had this issue I just try to be much more delicate with the headset particularly the mic. I used to kind of shove it back into the slot now I steadily guide it in to the slot it goes into.

So far I have been very careful with it. It is odd how it randomly happens. I have it plugged into the passthrough on my keyboard. I was thinking that this may have something to do with it.
