GeForce 560 TI Running Extremely Hot

Hello. I have a GeForce GTX 560 TI. It is running 58-59C idling(0% load). The fan generally runs at 1980 RPM(43% of max). My CPU(i7-3820) also runs somewhat hot(50C on 1-5% load). Is this normal, or is something wrong. Thanks!

Yes those are a bit high, you have cooling issues or its 100 degrees where you live.

Probably time to replace the thermal paste. If it's never been done, and the card has been in use gaming a lot, it is probably drying out. Not dangerous idle temps, tho. What are the load temps?

The card has been used in gaming, but not too much. On 99% load after 10 minutes, it got up to 90C.

Yeah, 90C is near the throttle point. Something is amiss. The first thing I'd do is remove the shroud, blow out the dirt, and replace the thermal paste. You can use the same thing you use for CPUs.

But if the temp reaches 90C and the fan is still stuck at 43%, there is more than thermal paste problems.

check you case air flow.

Remove the heatsink and reapply new thermal paste. Really common for cards this age to need new paste.
