Hi guys, I'm trying to build my first gaming pc and need help picking the parts. Here's what I have in mind
MOBO: Gigabyte Z97M-D3H
CPU: Intel i5-4670K
RAM: 8G Kit 2133 G.Skill Ripjaws-X
GPU: NVIDIA 2G GTX 770
HDD: 1 TB
SSD: 256GB
PSU: Corsair 80Plus Gold CS650M
Case: Antec Three Hundred Two OR Silverstone TJ08-E

This is my first upgrade from a standard laptop to a real gaming desktop so I am still not too sure what else I need to buy. It will cost around AUD$1500. I will most likely overclock the system (though i still need to look up how to do that) so I probably need to buy cooling system? do all these parts go together well ?

Get the 4690K instead, and a XFX/Seasonic/Antec PSU instead of the Corsair one.

You'll only need a CPU cooler when you are going to overclock, if you won't be for awhile then you can hold off. I'd get a better PSU.

The one you have selected is a tier 3.

These are some good PSUs.

You also don't need 2133 ram, 1600 will be good.

Edit: since you want to try OCing, I thought I'd mention you would need 750w if you wanted to try dual gpus (SLI), if not then nevermind :p

Thanks, i will consider getting one of those PSU's. is there a big difference between the 4670K and the 4690K?

Thanks for the suggestions bro.
What CPU cooler would you recommend me to get?
Does my MOBO support SLI? because it's a matx..

Ahh, you are right, yours doesn't support SLI.
Just so you know some Matx do though

As for the cooler, depends on the kind of OC you want to do and what kind of funds you have left :p
The best budget one is the Hyper 212 ($30) and one of the better ones NH-d14 ($65)

I just made a bitfenix build using the exact build that you used, though i had the bitfenix 750W 80+ Gold and I got an Asus direct CUII 770 for the 20% extra cooling.

The cPU you have is perfect for general gaming and OC, your mobo will come with software for easy Overclock options if you wanna be lazy. you dont need a better cpu than the one you chose.

The case I used let me use the Noctua NH-D14, which still reigns king of aircooling and is a wonderful addition if you can afford it. For the price point it outperforms watercooling like a champ, it's just an ugly beige and brown thing if you care about colour schemes.

In all honesty, you don't need SLI(or crossfire) for most applications/gaming and your single card setup will be enough to push everything to max settings for some time to come. The extra heat on multi-gpu gaming along with stuttering(i've seen it in action so yes it does exist) make it not worth it imho.

You have a real sweet setup there, make sure you get airflow right and possible order a few extra case fans to nail the cooling/airflow if you are going to overclock that little beast :D
