Hello, my name is Known, and this is my first time visiting the tom's Hardware forum. Navigating through the sub-forums, I have come to the conclusion that this would be the appropriate section to post this in. Enough of the introductions, let's get to the main question.
I am no expert on the building of computers, but I am very eager to learn compatibility and the top performing products for each part of a custom PC build. My main question on my build is, am I utilising all of the processing power of my Intel Core i7-4790 processor. With this I am using a MSI Z-97 G-45 motherboard. A full copy of my build can be seen here!

Thanks a lot!

good build, however there are 2 things i would change: the gpu is a bit weak compared to the rest of the build, and the psu is sub-par quality. for the psu, try to stick with Seasonic, XFX, and Antec, they make good psu's, and a good gpu to fit this build it a R9 290/X, or a GTX 780/Ti

Could you recommend a solid GPU? I would love to keep the price under $275 hopefully. Also, thank you for the information about the PSU!

Thanks!

Will this PC be good for gaming? I am looking to get high quality FPS in video games, but would also like it to be versatile enough to do other activities!

Thanks!

I have already purchased my case, the Corsair 300R, so will this build be compatible with it?

My budget is around $900, I already have a keyboard, mouse, and a monitor. I will need a copy of Windows, and I will be playing Minecraft at the time, but I will be looking to play a lot of other games too! I have no idea what resolution, so I am guessing HD? I have no interest in overclocking, and I will not be upgrading the CPU or GPU, but I will be upgrading my purchasing an SSD.

WOW! Thank you so much. I will most likely be using all of these pieces in my custom build! Thank you!

To make this better you still have enough money to add a small SSD to store Windows on and 1 or 2 games
