For my Current RIG I built it almost 6 years ago September

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Anywhere from immediate- within a few months (flexible?)

BUDGET RANGE: I want a great deal, great value. 200-400$~

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming. I love playing MMOs (just bought Wildstar, have crappy performance). Also had crappy performance in FFXIV ARR

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: HD Radeon 4870

Pretty sure this my PSU (I hope?)

Antec TPQ-850 850W

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Q9550 CPU, Asus p5q-e MOBO, 4gb ddr2 ram

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:- Newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, anything that is a legit online retailer in the usa

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe minor OCING, definitely NO sli/xfire

MONITOR RESOLUTION 1920x1200

My biggest concern is my entire rig is pretty old.

Although I still have a pretty good CPU, and a nice power supply. im also stuck with older pcie-2 slots and ddr2 ram. If I upgraded to a high end/mid high end GPU would my computer still be "relatively" high end again ?

Like able to play games on high settings and what not ? Right now im playing Wildstar on low/lowest settings and still getting 25-30 FPS (with a slideshow in high action areas)

Im leaning towards an r9, although have no preference on a model. Im really looking for awesome value

Since I have an older rig, would getting like an R9 280x be a waste ?

Any recommendations for a card, and price range ? I have no issue lurking some of the deal sites out there trying to get a bargain

And just to be REALLY thorough this is my thread from 6 years ago of everything in my computer

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/256405-31-setting

The only upgrade since then has been the harddrive (I got a SSD).

And as you can see I have a HUGE case with plenty of airflow

(edit, it says I have 8gb of ram in that old thread, its just 4)
