I am a little confused. I believe the 670 and 760 are the equivalent versions of each other from the 600 and 700 series right?

Thats my first question. Second which one is better?

760: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GTX760-Dual-Link-04G...

670: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Signature2-Graphics-...

I am also curious. Why do some 760's have 1 fan while others have 2 fans? Same with 670's?

Lastly, will an AMD FX 6300 bottle neck these GPU's? (the one thats better). I am running the CPU at stock speed (however with the default turbo setting when gaming it pushes the CPU to 4.1GHz).

My motherboard is an M5A97 LE R2.0 if that matters.

More about : gtx 760 gtx 670

They are very similar. I would pick the 760 since its newer.
As for cooling most single fan cards are reference blower cards, and you typically dont want those unless you have a small SLI rig. Dual fan coolers are good. (Asus DCUII, EVGA ACX etc)

Your processor will be fine as well.

A lot of people will try to compare the GPU's directly, but its good to consider what the application your using is optimized for.
You should check the system requirements of the app your trying to use.

Some apps/games may be CPU intense and some may be GPU intense.

If you want to compare the numbers straight up you can use this site:
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-760-vs-EVGA-Ge...
They lay them out nicely for you to compare.
670 seems to win out on the numbers.

The fans are for cooling. The cooling systems are patented so each manufacturer has their own 1 or 2 fan/heatsink setup they think will perform better.

Whats a reference blower? Also I wont be using SLI. Only keeping 1 graphics card in my rig. So by small SLI rig you mean only if im going with 2 GPU's in a small case?

This is my case: http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Gaming-Tower-Computer-CH...

I'm really surprised my CPU wont bottle neck either of these then. :o

I have an EVGA670 with the single squirrel-cage fan and a newer EVGA770 with the dual fan blade type fans. Definitely get the dual fan setup, much cooler temps on the GPU.

Thank you sir. Very useful article :)  Seems the 670 is better only by a slight bit. I play games like WoW, DayZ, League of Legends, Counterstrike, and occasionally BF4.

I have one major concern then. Why are 670's so much more expensive on the market then if there only a little bit ahead of the 760's? I assume they are no longer manufactured therefore going "rare?"

That is the exact reason, they are getting low on stocks, when people still buy them.

No problem!

This will also be useful then as you have many games you wish to play:

Actually, a $300 graphics card would be overkill for all of the games you mentioned. A GTX 660 would probably be overkill.

Well 670 is more powerful then 760. But the difference is negligible. And when it comes to performance per watt both are exactly same. The triple cooler gigabyte card has proven that more fans leads to better cooling. The driver support for 600 series card will be stopped significantly much before the driver support for 700 series cards. Which is one significant reason to choose 760 over any 600 series card. Your cpu may bottleneck both the cards but not by much to be worried about.

Awesome! I guess I can safely go with a 760. In the future it will be my next purpose when a few games I'm waiting on come out :)  Is there any way I can get an idea of how much my CPU will bottleneck the 760 by if at all? I really hope it's not much. I hate knowing something in my rig is being bottlenecked :(  I cry everytime.

It wont be more than 10% in the most demanding games, and a mild OC will alleviate any bottleneck you may have.

Good to know! fx 6300 is at stock speed (but with amd turbo core technology it pushes the cpu to 4.1GHz while gaming). What do you think? Also thank you all for the help! Very quick responses and informative posts! Nailed all my questions on the spot.

Get the windows experience index score for each component in your system i.e. cpu, ram, hard disk and gpu. Just google it. The one with the lowest rating will be the targeted bottleneck of your system.

I don't think you will have any problem playing the games you listed with that Processor and any of the GPU's you listed.

At 4GHz you should be in the clear. If my 5 year old quad core Phenom II can handle it at 4GHz the 6300 can!
