Building my 1st gaming rig on a budget and have decided upon the AMD FX6300 Black edition 6 core processor.

Only issue is what mobo as some support certain chips and others dont?

I am kinda noob so anybody help.

I want a mobo with hdmi output and that will support crossfire/sli and will allow my G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 2133 mhz ram to be compatible and run at that speed.

Anybody with any mobo knowledge help?

I am on a budget so I cant afford ultra high mobos.

my gpu is going to be sapphire Radeon R9 270 with a corsair 750w cx psu.

AMD AM3+ ATX size motherboards don't use onboard graphics so you can use your video card for HDMI.

ASRock 970 EXTREME4

This ASRock model has SLI compatibility.

You will usually need to use the higher priced AMD 990 chipset models for SLI.
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

AMD FX CPUs, including the FX-6300, support 1866MHz memory with one DIMM per channel or 1600MHz memory with two DIMMs per channel. These are dual channel memory motherboards. Higher frequencies require overclocking the system.

I would recommend the Asus M5A97 R2.0. You don't need HDMI on the motherboard because the monitor output will be from the GPU. If you are using a R9 270, then you won't need a SLI compatible mobo, but the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 does support SLI, but it is more expensive

Thanks so much for that quick response Aspire.

The reason I wanted HDMI is because that will allow me to use my HD TV as a monitor with hdmi connect? or am I missing the point lol maybe I have this wrong.

Wont an SLI compatible mobo be better for future gaming that r9 270 cant handle on its own or?

I realise these may be noob questions, as its my 1st ever gaming rig.

1. If you use the video outputs on your motherboard, then you won't be using the graphical power of your GPU. Most GPU's support HDMI so that's fine, anyway, most modern motherboards support HDMI anyway.
2. AS a R9 270 is AMD, it uses Crossfire. SLI is Nvidia. Most motherboards support crossfire and most high end motherboards support SLI
