Hello
My friend messed up his hard drive. He deleted some files from the reg database, and now it bsods. We cant do anything, but getting into the bios. His laptop is Lenovo S510p(if i recall correctly)
Is there any way to get into the reg database from another pc without booting from that specific drive? He knows what files he deleted, and he did copy them before deleting them.

If not - how can we restore factory settings then? Formatting the drive and just putting it in?

Solution
The restore partition is normally hidden from Users and the regular OS. It has own bootable OS to do the restore.

I would suggest you use a boot disk and backup important files that haven't been backed up before restoring. things like game saves. emails often get missed.
