Hi,

I have had my rig for a couple of months now and I recently bought some new headphones (Sony MDR V55's) so I decided I will update my audio drivers to receive the best audio quality. On the Asus Maximus Vi Hero (my mobo) website it states that the Motherboard has Supreme FX - which is as good as a dedicated audio card according to Asus. I can see the Supreme FX on my motherboard (it lights up once you turn on the computer) but when I go to device manager I don't see Supreme FX listed. Now I am confused why it isn't showing up and hopefully someone can help.

Kind Regards
Spov

It's not listed , Realtek HD Audio settings is what you get.

Supreme FX is just a enhanced and shielded realtek audio chip.

There are a few reviews out there that compare the sound like

essentially the while the 1150 Codec is the base for the FX sound, they also utilize higher end caps, an amplifier and other 'little' things to enhance sound quality which is very good on the Hero, have had clients planning on getting a sound card, opt out after hearing it and using that money elsewhere on their builds
