What build would you go for out of these 3?

Solution
I would wait for the I7 4790K as its a 4.0Ghz out of the box intel CPU
and go for a Z97 Mobo

Since the AMD is more of a budget decision, being generally much slower than the other two I would go with either the i5 or i7 depending on how much it is for gaming and how much other data processing style work you will do. If you are doing lots of media editing, compiles, CPU rendering or other similar tasks then get the i7. If this is more of just a gaming rig that happens to do a few other things once in a while then get the i5 and save the money.

The i7 build, but i would get the R9 290 and remove the Blu ray UNLESS if you don't have ANY blu-ray player already and youre going to watch movies on your pc at your desk?

Either save the money from those changes or add a beefy 240mm watercooler like the Corsair H100i which would allow you to go crazy on overclocking.

2133mhz 11CL is probably the best.

My PC is designed for gaming really, sometimes rendering in sony vegas, but yeah, mostly for gaming!
So the i5 should be pretty suitable right? I have an i7 2600 right now but I'm completely selling my PC.

I think I'm gonna keep it an intel + nvidia rig, but thanks for the feedback!
I have a big blu ray collection, I watch them in bed at night from my PC haha!
I'm not really a fan of watercooling, I'm quite hesitant about it, I've never OC'd either!

Yeah I'm guessing there's not much difference between the ram, noticably. Thanks man!

I'll see if I can gather up the cash for the i7, just because it is only an extra £70 and should last me quite a while!

Yeah, Both are quad core processors and the i7's hyperthreading works really well in predictable tasks like video editing but in games it generally doesn't do well. So for a gaming rig the general rule is to save the money on the difference between the i5/i7 and get the i5 but sink that money in to a better video card since games generally scale with video card performance pretty linearly... ie, the more you pay teh more performance you generally get.

Actually think you should just wait with buying a new pc, you current one is pretty good. If you're not able to run games maxed out or something then just buy a R9 290 and keep the other parts. You already have a SSD, if you need storage then buy a HDD too. Your system isn't really outdated or anything so unless someone gives you some amazing offer for your pc, i would say you should keep it, maybe upgrade it if you really feel the urge to do so.

That is a really good build but I'm trying to get £800 for my PC and that would mean I'd have to spend £400+ to get that build, it is good value for money but £400 is actually a lot for me right now :(

I would sacrifice some on the case or power supply to get the better build, it's only about £30 off of the original i7 build, so if you went with a 650 watt cheaper but still well built power supply and saved 15 off of the case picking a different one it would be about even.

Well i tried lowering everything
If you want lower prices we can degrade the GPU and the CASE too

Thanks for your help, I think the most I could spent is about 1.1K, I really want the Storm Trooper case, the blu ray drive too. I think I'm going to stick with the 2nd i5 build I linked. Would the CPU really have much difference? Between the i5 and the 4790k?

Also, I'm not very familiar with the Intel Chipsets on the Motherboards, what's the difference between the MSI one I originally had to the Asus one you recommended?

That ASUS Z97 is one of the best Z97 Mobos available
the i7 4790k would be more powerful and "furtureproof"
But for gaming the i5 4690k is the most cost effective. It has the same performance in almost all the games.
i would recommend the 4790K

But how does the motherboard's chipset help? For example z77 vs z97 and things like that, what's the difference between your one and this one? http://www.cclonline.com/product/131906/Z87-G45-GAMING/Motherboards/MSI-Z87-G45-Gaming-Motherboard-LGA1150-Intel-Z87/MBD0872/?siteID=8BacdVP0GFs-EF2aYn1jbzWGMDbHY2_otg

Just being upto date with the 5th generation of intel CPUs
And the Mobo's Features are more better
If you want to go with a Z87 its okay i think updating the BIOS will make it 5th generation compatible
But i would suggest going for the ASRock Z87 extreme 4 over the MSI
