Did I just get a DOA card?

So I bought a new GPU (MSI GTX 770) and it doesn't output any signal from either of the DVI ports or its Displayport. Fans spin on boot up but I get no signal from the card. My old HD 6850 works just fine.

Specs:

Xeon E3 1230v3 (no integrated GPU)

Gigabyte B85m D3H

8GB RAM

450W super flower golden green

You found your answer. It is likely your graphic card then. Just to be sure, check your BIOS with any graphic options that could trigger a conflict. Check to be sure you pluged the two PCIe power connectors (8 + 6 pins).

If you can, try another PCIe slot or install into another PC if possible. You will confirm the situation right away.

I'm not going to OC so I'm fine with 450W.

I also just built the rig and my HDD was empty so it's not the drivers. Can't get even to bios without using the card from old rig.

There were two 2x4 pin pcie connectors, I had them all plugged in. Fans work on the GPU so it gets power.

I'd still try it with a different PSU. If that doesn't work, your card is probably DOA.

Nvidia recommends a 600w psu or a psu with atleast 42a on 12v rail to run a system with a 770. Just because the fans are spinning, it doesn't mean its getting enough power.

It *may* not be your psu at this point (I would still double check though) but you may want to upgrade your psu in the future. Your psu is a good one, but you are putting a lot of strain on it.
