Performance issues in games.

Hi there. I got a PC back in January, and I've been noticing some problems with playing games. For example, games like Saints Row 4, GTAIV, Witcher 2, Wolfenstein: the New Order, Planetside 2, Sleeping Dogs and Watch Dogs all tend to run at sub-45fps @1080p, and no matter what graphical settings I choose, that never really changes much.

Here is my set up:

Here are my Passmark scores:

(My CPU has been overclocked to 4000Mhz and my GPU has been overclocked to 1500Mhz)

I dunno if it matters at all but my hard drive is quite full and only has 265Gb free, although I am planning to get another one soon.

So, is there something weird going on with my PC, or can I simply not run those games at 60FPS?

Solution
Your ram is very slow @803MHz on a single channel. Try upgrading to a pair of 1600MHz or 1866Mhz. That is probably what is holding everything back. Look at your passmark scores, it shows that in the memory test, 8GB of Corsair's low end 1333MHz ram beat's your ram by 75.5%. Get some 1600 or 1866 Gskill Ripjaws X (my recommendation) or something like that and performance will improve.

Also, the fullness of that drive won't affect performance. I only have 150GB free space on my 1TB drive and it runs just as fast as it did when I first built my pc.

I also find it interesting that passmark says a stock clock 8150 CPU is 3.9% faster than yours. Bring your cpu back to stock clock speed and see if that improves your passmark score or...

I think you are forgetting that this is DDR (Double Data Rate) memory so it showing up as 803MHz means he has 1600MHz memory.

What is confusing me, and I may just be overlooking something here, is that you have a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard that has an AM3+ socket but your setup says socket M2. Am I just being stupid here or is there something wrong with that?

I was looking in to the Ripjaws and I think i might go for them now. Also, I reset my CPU back to clock speed and it's now 2.2% better than the 8150
