can someone tell me, do i install the drivers before or after i install the card?

it may sound a dumb question bu i have never replaced my existing card.

Use this to remove your current drivers: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweepe...
Then shut down your PC, remove the GPU, replace it with your new GPU, turn on the PC, go to Nvidia's site and download the drivers, and install the drivers.

You install the drivers AFTER installing the card

You uninstall any drivers from any previous GPU, if you have a dedicated one already. Usually requires a reboot.

After this. Shut down your PC, turn off your PSU if it has an on/off switch, and turn it all off at the wall socket. let it rest for a while. Unplug the cables at the back of the PC (i usually unplug them all).

Remove the old card (if you have one), install the new one.

When done & connected back up. Boot up, ignore Windows updating video drivers, grab the latest drivers directly from Nvidia's website (Not the DVD in the box), install them, reboot, done.

Final step is just to play with your settings in Nvidia control panel as you like them.
