My wireless symbol shows a red x and will not connect to the internet

What do I do? I have tried to connect to the internet and my laptop will not connect to the internet. When I look at the device manager my laptop says the device is working properly.

does your laptop have a slider button on the side to instantly disable the wireless? Dell's often do on teh right side.

also, some have hotkey buttons to disable wireless... maybe Function+F4 or F6.

either one people sometimes accidently hit to disable and run into this issue

check under network devices or adaptors that the wifi card not been disabled and check to see if it not turned off by funtion key or a on/off switch.
