Which solution is better for gaming :

Intel i7-4700MQ (2.4 GHz, 3.4 GHz Turbo, 6 MB Cache)
AMD Radeon HD 8750M 2GB
4GB RAM (I'll buy more, 8GB probably)

or

Intel i5-4200M (2.5 GHz, 3.1 GHZ Turbo, 3 MB Cache)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 2GB
4GB RAM (same, I'll make it 8GB)

That only applies to desktop CPUs, the i5 in a laptop is equivalent to an i3. It only has 2 cores and hyper threading, the i7 has 4 cores and hyperthreading. So an i7 will actually make a difference in gaming, and in doing work on a laptop. As long as the i7 is a Q variant, those mean it is a 4 core system.

Oh OK sorry I've never built/customized a laptop in my life... I thought it was the same as a PC :D

Yeah, I like my nvidia desktop and mobile gpu. But AMD has some things going for it too, Just keep an eye out and don't pass up any great AMD deals! Maybe post again before you buy. Try lenovos y series, they offer great performance for the price and I think they offer the 750m. Build quality is pretty good on lenovo. I have an ASUS laptop that I paid 700-750 for with an i7 and 650m, I really like it. But the hard drive died about 10 months later, everything else was great though.
