G.Skill vs AMD Radeon

I'm anticipating making a gaming build. The primary components will include the new Intel i7-4790K Devil's Canyon processor, the ASUS Maximus VII HERO ROG motherboard, and the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 graphics card. This question concerns the RAM sticks.

I'm not sure as to which ram to use: G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x8GB or AMD Radeon R9 "Gamer Series" 2x8GB memory. Both are available in DDR3-2133 and DDR3-1866, though this is primarily the 2400MHZ model of the Radeon sticks vs. the Ripjaws X 1866 model. Which would go better with my Devil's Canyon CPU and Maximus VII mobo?

witch one is on the boards compatibility list?? with out me looking all that up are they 1.5 sticke if not will the board realy support the higher or lower voltage memory? do you really need anything more than 1600 [intels memory controller is rated to 1600 any thing more is an overclock on the chip] unless that's changed with the newer chip you want. but in the end its all about what you end up with stability wise.. as far as brand I prefer the g-skill but I never used the AMD ones don't know who makes them for them [??]

The AMD sticks are actually made by AMD and Radeon.

According to the Newegg page on the Maximus VII ROG model, anything over 1600 is an overclock. I don't know anything about the voltage, but the only memory I can find in my general search area is a Ripjaws X 2x8GB that runs on 1.5V. Both the 2133 Ripjaws X and both of the AMD Radeon Memory sticks I'm looking at area at 1.65V, and I have no clue whether the board will support that.

Ah! A G.Skill representative in the flesh! (metaphorically speaking) It's very reassuring to know that the mobo will support any of those RAM sticks.

So if I jumped up to a Trident X DDR3-2400 with a CAS latency of 10, will the higher OC speed of 2400MHz vs 1866MHz more than make up for the decreased CAS latency? That is, which would you recommend: DDR3-2400MHz with a CAS latency of 10, or DDR3-1866 with a CAS latency of 8?

Yes, I've got the Tridents in 2666/11 in my Z87 Hero, and am currently running 2400/10 Tri's in my Z97 Hero (with a spare 4770K while waiting for the 46-4790K CPU release, I've had the 2666 sticks in the Z97 and they ran fine at 2800

Oh and the AMD sticks are actually made by Vision Tek and Patriot, they are contracted out by AMD
