For gaming, the i7 doesn't have any big improvements over the i5. I would get the i7-4790K, which is not much more expensive. The i5-4690K would be my recommendation because the i7 isn't worth $100 in terms of gaming performance. I rather spend that $100 in a SSD, which makes your computer a lot snappier.

In terms of RAM, go with dual-channel setup since that's your motherboard configuration. You can start with one 8GB and then add up to 32GB if that's your plan. For gaming, there is very little improvement in using dual channel vs single channel. But you may have compatibility issues later on when you add more sticks.

If you plan on overclocking, buy an aftermarket heatsink. Depending on how high you want to overclock, you can range...

If you plan on overclocking, buy an aftermarket heatsink. Depending on how high you want to overclock, you can range between a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to a Noctua NH-D14 / Phanteks PH-TC14PE. If you don't plan to overclock, then there's no need to spend the extra money on an overclockable CPU and motherboard.

Other than that, it looks good.

It's perfect for gaming but since you're using single stick of 8gb ram I would get another stick just for 16gb. Since it's better to have 2 sharing the load rather than putting the strain all on one. Gives you plenty of headroom too. Cheers
