Installing a game on an SSD will significantly reduce loading times in games, compared to an HDD.

Yes. But not worth worrying about.

The OS, swap files, and other such whirly bits that are needed to run the computer are best kept on the SSD. This improves your boot time as well as the overall execution on the system as OS needs are addressed as quickly as possible. This opens up bandwidth for other activities.

The Games and data on a HDD is not a bad solution as game data is pulled and stored in both active memory and potentially in the swap file (depending on authors use.)

The optimal solution is to have nothing but SSDs - but that will tend to get a bit spendy.

that ONLY SSD thing is what I say...... gave up on HD's a short time ago. AIN'T looking back. ........... but it seems to be frowned on by some hold outs.

depends on a game -
if you use a resource heavy game like Skyrim with a metric fsckton of mods, then yes, it will be apparent.
you will also feel a slight difference if a game loads lots of crap on the go.
but for older games there may not be any difference at all...
