When I plug in my PC with the 'PCI-E' cable and 1 other 6 pin connector, I get nothing, no beep, no display, no fans, nothing at all. But when I dont have my graphics card plugged in, or if i plug it in with 2 molex 6 pin cables, it turns on no problem but when I check if the grapics card is there in the Ubuntu terminal. It only shows

"01:05.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS780L [Radeon 3000] [1002:9616]
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device [1458: d000]"

My graphics card is a Sapphire R9 270x. I run ubuntu so when i run the command "lspci -nnk | grep VGA -A1" thats all I get.

Nothing about a R9 270x, nothing about sapphire. Am i missing something or is my graphics card not connected right?

No its not the graphics card isn't working, its the fact that most graphics card dont work well without some modding to Linux based OS. AMD only has drivers for Linux not Ubuntu. So this website here helps you configurre the command to get it working.

As for your issue of 6 pin connectors not working but molex does, that could mean your 6 pin is broken.
