Hello everyone,

I have a Sony Vaio SVE17137CXB laptop which is about one year old. I've been noticing some performance issues, and decided to make a surface test (read) with HDDScan. I'm a little bit alarmed because a lot of clusters are in the lower spectrum. The last test I did was in january, and there were no clusters in the > 500 ms map, and now I have 70.

I compared results with a quad core desktop which is about 4 years old, and it only has 2 clusters under 500 ms.

This laptop is mainly used for maya/ae work and heavy rendering. Are these results normal or I should worry, and order a new HDD immediately?

You're right, that's what I thought. The issue here is that I bought the laptop online from outside my country (Venezuela), which has strict exchange control, so it's very problematic to go through a warranty replace.

I wanted to check if this test result were normal for laptops, considering they are much more fragile than desktops. Do you think it would be rational to continue working on this drive until I receive green light from warranty support, or I should quarantine the machine until then?

Thanks for your input
