usb 2.0 case and usb 3.0 motherboard

they are compatible right? I understand the case will cause the front panel usb ports to be 2.0, but i can still connect them right?

Normally yes. The 2.0 case can connect to a 2.0 USB header on the motherboard.

What motherboard do you have?

i was asking 3.0 usb header on motherboard. nevermind if u meant to type 3.0 lol
im thinking about getting the asus m5a97 r2.0

Sorry i meant to also say your motherboard has a 2.0 header as well as a 3.0. The USB 3.0 header on the motherboard is significantly different then the 2.0 Header.

I did also look at your motherboard and it does have USB 2.0 headers on it, so you will be fine.

is cooler master elite 430 (which has 2.0 usb ports in front) not compatible with the motherboard asus m5a97 r2.0 (which says it's usb 3.0)?

Your motherboard supports USB 3.0 yes. It however also has 3 connections on the side of the board that are USB 2.0 ports.

To answer your question you case IS compatible with your motherboard.

Yes, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible. You can plug any USB 2.0 or even 1.0 into any USB 3.0 port.
