Hey everyone,

I am looking for a new graphics card for my system. I don't game like I use to but like to get on and play from time to time and looking into some of the new games.

I'm working with a Thermaltake blackwidow 550w, i5-2500k, ga-z68x-ud3p-b3 mobo, cooler master 212+, WD black caviar 1Tb, 8gb (2x4gb)ripjaw 1600 ram, monitor is 1920 x 1080 23" need anything else let me know. I would like to run as high resolution as possible with good fps for my budget.

Budget is under $200. I'm looking to run just a single card.

You would be looking at the 270x for just 20 over, or the 270 if you need to stay under 200.

If I was able to go R9 270x or R9 280 would the 280 be that much better of a card for the money?

It is an upgrade yes, a large upgrade not so much.

You will see a performance increase, but an OCed 270x can trade blows with the 280.

Well the 280 is much better than the 270x.
7870=R9 270x.
You can get the 280 also ,it's worth the money.
