How do I install the sims 2 on a dell Windows XP Home Edition

Solution
FYI XP isnt' supported anymore, if you have that old of a system you should consider a new one. New POCs start as low as $249 at Walmart for either a desktop or laptop. Gaming capable systems are starting at $700 or more to be able to run games 'like I see on the internet". If your that cash strapped MOSTLY every game is available on Console, which PS3/Xbox is only $149 and still going strong.

1st) make sure the silver part of the disc is faced down.

Start menu -> my computer -> Double Click DVD drive with your games label -> should bring up an install menu, but if it opens the disc -> look for a file like 'setup' or 'install'

Hopefully your computer meets the minimum system requirements to play.
