I've been having issues with my computer for a month or so now. It would click and freeze and sometimes BSOD and crash. Every time after this occurred, it would go to a black screen on boot that told me that it was unable to detect boot media, and that I should insert boot media and press a button. I assumed that the problem was a faulty hard drive, and just recently replaced it.

It took about a day for the new hard drive to also start clicking and the computer to start crashing. Since I still had the option to return the hard drive, I just did that yesterday and got an exact exchange for the same hard drive. Today, it crashed and gave me a stop 0x00000f4 error and crashed. It successfully booted after restarting, but I'd like to go ahead and find the root of this issue if possible, so I can fix it.

I just disabled overclocking from the BIOS screen, haven't had crashes since, but I would be surprised if that was the cause.

If there's any more information needed, please let me know.

Thanks.

BugCheck F4 CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION

data in memory belonging to csrss.exe
was corrupted in memory, windows detected the corruption and shut the system down.

- confirm memtest86 works as expected.

-I would scan for viruses.
- looks like you are running a old version of windows 7 without the service pack or updates.
you should install them.

you should also install your CPU chipset updates directly from intel:

Possible cause, Either your power supply or motherboard is getting defective but I think it is the power supply.

* Why power supply, since you do overclock it might have inconsistency in power due to more needed power linking to the motherboard can be getting faulty too.

So would getting a replacement battery help the power supply problem? My power supply gave out less than a year ago and I replaced it.

I'd rather rule out everything possible besides the motherboard first. Is there anything else this could be?

Oh wait.. I just noticed it is a laptop. So overclocking a laptop is a very bad idea unless it has a very good cooling system.

Disregard my previous opinion and here what I suggest now that you must not overclock it since it will easily defect your motherboard.

It's specifically a gaming laptop with overclocking enabled by default and a massive 1.5" fan sticking out of the back. My temps for CPU and GPU have been fairly normal.

there is a check system to do...3rd hard drive with same error code, means there maybe a driver problem with your Windows disk... try installing with another Windows disk...reseat your RAM and check RAM sticks and slots!!! One stick at a time in each of the 3 slots...other threads point to RAM.
