asus m5a97 le r2.0 = $ 80

considering the prices, which board is best?
in the first two, whats the difference besides the usb 3?

please keep in mind this: im not going to overclock, nor am i going to use crossfirex or sli.

i try to avoid gigabyte. i've looked into that specific model too. its got good specs, no doubt, but too many people have had problems where it dies in a few months. of course its impossible to avoid this problem, but ive never seen as many people complaining about that problem as they did with this board. so just from the asus boards, which do you think is best?

I was actually looking at that board too. its just the m5a78 is half the price. is the performance really that much worse where i should buy the more expensive board? if its only lacking some features but performs fine, i wouldnt mind,

they obviously lack features compared to the more expensive ones you have mentioned. however, i think in terms of specs, they have what i need. I dont know if the asus m5a97 r2.0 is worth it being twice as much.
and what do you mean those are poor? thats kind of vague lol.

so i think i've made my decision. I think ill go with asus m5a78l-m usb3. just looking at this, will it be ok for a light gaming pc? please dont suggest any other ones (especially ones more expensive), just evaluate this specific board.

oh i have one more question if u know about graphics cards. the amd r7 265 should work well as long as the motherboard has the pci x16 slot right? even if the mobo has pci 2.0 but graphics card is pci e 3.0?

I have the m usb3 board myself. I've had no problems with it at all (3 months now). I have 16GB of GSKILL ARES (2x8) memory and everythings working well. My only complaint is the onboard video (ATI RADEON 3000). It SAYS 1GB discreet, but it's not. I would not do any gaming on this board unless you enjoy 2003 and older (NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT, ANYONE?).

Other than that, I'm very happy with it. I probably don't use it to its full potential. Hope it has suited you well.

Ive built 5 customers a build with the Plus, my only complaint about them is the lack of mosfet heatsinks, which is reality on all matx budget boards.

They use them for light gaming even moderate battlefield 4 gaming, been 6-Year now without issues on all 5 of them :)

Hoped that helped.

Also... Gigabyte is my personal favorite, but i have also read the bad reviews on that board that was suggested, and i havent tested it personally and have avoided it for the same reason you have BUT!.. Dont let that one board taint your future possible upgrade to a Middle of the road or high end gigabyte. They really are among the best in the business :)
