Hi. First post, so sorry for any errors. Have found many answers to my questions on this site.

I have just installed a front intake fan into an empty slot on my case (Cooler Master Elite 333 Mid Tower). Now I have noticed that there are bits of removable foam inserted inside the front panel, directly in front of the fan. I am just wondering if I should remove these to maximize the air flow? Or do they have some purpose that they should be left in e.g. noise, filter etc.

Sorry if this is a basic question.

Thanks!

It's probably for vibration and/or noise dampening, I would leave it.

Those are the filters - removing them will improve the airflow, but at the cost of sucking dust into the case. I would leave them in place.
