Hi,
I'm planning on building a gaming PC and was wondering I f I should dual gtx 770 2gb or 4gb.

I'm planning on playing games like Planet side 2, Titanfall, and League of Legends. I'll be playing on one 1080p monitor and one 720p for second screen. I'll also be recording with fraps.

I would get the 4GB card for now. That way you can SLI it in the future.

Rule of thumb - memory DOES NOT stack with SLI. 2 GTX 770 2GB cards = 2GB total memory.

EDIT: Sorry - reread and noticed you are SLI'ing regardless. Still get the 4GB card so you can run the newer games that demand more.

Gah, it sucks that vram doesn't stack.

Yes it does, though it is for good reason. Imagine the problems we would have if the cards shared memory, having to access and send it to each other, it would create an unbelievable bottleneck. That's why both cards store what they need (which is a lot of redundant data) so they can access and put it out as quickly as possible.

Pretty much, but it would piss me off if I got a 2GB card then a game came out that I wanted, and required 3GB+. lol..

No game requires a certain amount of VRAM. Even nvidias best gpu has 2 gb of VRAM. Still if you can afford two 4gb cards it would be more "future proof".

What do you mean no game requires a certain amount of VRAM? There is a minimum requirement of VRAM for every game. Nvidia's best GPU has 12GB of VRAM, even the 780 comes with no less the 3GB.

Most demanding games of now (used in most benchmarks) is BF4 with ultra settings, it uses an aprox of 2.5GBs of Vram, or maybe just speculation because the GPUs required for it comes with 3GBs of Vram. You can outperform the 780ti and Titan (I read a benchmark of it) with a GTX760 SLI with only 2GBs of Vram in the configuration. But regardless, having more Vram is more futureproof even if you do SLI/Xfire.

Damn I forgot about the titanz I was referring to the 690 :/ . Sure there are requirements for VRAM for each game but it is something like 512mb not even close to two gb.

Yea even though bf4 uses 2.5+ gb ram you can still get better performance with a gtx 690 (2gb) than with a 780 6gb.
