So I've got an hp notebook that I am trying to upgrade from vista to windows7. Problem is when I insert the windows7 disk into the drive it spins and whirls but then after a few mins stops and does nothing. So naturally I go to "computer" and try to open the disk by clocking on the drive itself and it tells me to insert a disk. So I try another disk and it reads it just fine (both disks are DVDs). Then I test the windows7 disk in another computer and it works. I then went to my registry and delete the upper and lower filters. I restarted the computer and try to boot from the disk and nothing. Hp tech support was useless as they told me to do everything I already did (I wasn't paying $100 to "maybe" fix my problem) . I then ran ccleaner and restarted and still nothing.... Anyone on here know why my computer will read every disk but this window7 disk??
Update: I decided to give it another go and after leaving the computer off all day I turned it back on and loaded the disk, it worked! Well it started the install and then told me I needed to restart the computer so it could continue the update. So I did. Well now I'm back to square one and it's not loading the disk again....
