I am planning to buy a PS4, but I believe I really need to play last gen games because I haven't played for a while now, I skipped last gen. Can you suggest a build that will be able to smoothly run last gen games (e.g. DmC: Devil May Cry, Diablo III) and cross gen games (e.g. Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs), possibly on the max settings? Please suggest a build just as powerful as PS3 and Xbox 360 can get. I don't want to play next gen games with it, because buying the PS4 is set. Buying a PS3 or an Xbox 360 isn't also an option because I think it's not worth it.

Solution
Unfortunately building a gaming PC is much more then buying a console, however you will get a machine that you can upgrade and actually use as a computer. Here is a machine that will play last gen games with no issue.

What is your budget for this build? Also note that max settings on cross gen games like Battlefield 4 and Watch Dogs take a lot of horsepower on PC to play them on max, as the graphics are multiple times better on PC then on consoles.

Ah well, my bad. What I meant by max settings is not really the max settings on the PC versions, but the settings to achieve the same fidelity/quality that the last gen consoles can.

My budget is between $500 - $750.

Please note that my goal here is to just experience last gen and cross gen games. Sorry for the confusion on max settings.
