Blue screen randomly appearing after installing an amd graphics card. Is it the cause or could it be something else? It appears more often when my computer is on standby.

Unlike other people having the same problem, mine won't restart. it is stucked and resetting will only solve it temporarily.

Blue screen with no error message, just plain blue screen.

Solution
could be the card -- can you get to desktop in safe mode?? if so remove the amd software for the card [driver] and then shut down turn off the psu- unplug the power from the wall push the on button and hold it for 2-5 sec. to insuer discharge of the computer- remove the vid card from its slot reseat the card back in the slot - hook it all back up and restart and go back to desktop as normal and the card should be using the generic vga driver built into windows .. let it sit there and play a game of solitaire and see if it crashes . if not download the driver from amd to a folder on your desktop and then install it from there and see if the issues is solved

will try it and see if it solves the problem

when you remove the NVidia drivers be sure to uninstall them from add/remove programs and not from device manager theres a foot note on this at NVidia on there drivers on this saying that the driver may not properly uninstall from there..

Uninstalling Drivers Using Device Manager is not Supported
Issue
On all supported versions of Microsoft Windows, uninstalling the NVIDIA driver using the Windows Device Manager may not remove associated files or applications.
Explanation
Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is by design. If you wish to uninstall the NVIDIA driver, it is recommended that you do so using Add and Remove programs.
See the Microsoft KB article 2278714.

Haven't tried removing graphics card and putting it yet, By the way, I uninstalled nvidia drivers by uninstalling program and with an app called driver sweeper in safe mode. It is happening more frequently now and it is kind of irritating.will try your suggestion right now.

driver sweeper -- never use these things -- hope it did not sweep away something it was not suppose to.. cant ever remember a time I was not able to uninstall something out side the driver/programs own uninstaller.. onr thing I do see is folks don't read footnotes like that deal from NVidia thast one little thing missed can cause a headache and what may have been all good for 100 drivers in the past that one little thing that's added to the new driver may be needed to be looked at before installing it ... my faverit one is guys saying they had to get the new driver to run there new game , but when you look in the release notes for the drivers theres nothing stated that shows any new support or fixes for there new game over the plder drivers
