Hi. blackbird
I noticed this problem. My computer original psu which is made by liteon doesn't have a on/off button. whereas this psu you had recommended me does. what do I do?
my computer screenshots can be found at http://www.computershopper.com/desktops/reviews/gateway...
the new psu I want is http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

You turn it on? What do you mean? It just allows you to turn on or turn off the power supply. That is it.

That little detail doesn't mean anything. You just put the new PSU in and use your computer - there is no problem here.

So what? That just means that the second you plug in the power cable for the power supply, it'll just be on? Are you seriously finding a problem with an extra power switch?

well u know that is a problem because my computer needs to have space for that on/off button which it clearly doesn't.

There's plenty of space for that switch, what are you talking about?

I mean space as in the button needs to have a space to pop up.

Really? It looks like a pretty big cutout to me. If you can mount the XFX TS 550W in there, the power switch would just stick out of the cutout. Regardless of the orientation of the power supply, the power switch will always be located in the inside portion of the cutout, so it will never be cutoff by the railing on the right side of the cutout (according to the image you posted of the case) and it will never hit the top left mounting railing either. So as long as the power supply fits and you can mount it properly, I don't see why it would not have a space for the power switch. If I am missing something, please correct me. I don't have that case so I am only going off the image that you presented.

There will be space. You need to get your eyes checked or something.

There is no cutout needed for the button.

Do me a favor. Take a picture of your case or use an existing image of the case in the site you linked and do a quick sketch (MS Paint?) to illustrate what you are talking about. Clearly, you either have no idea what you are talking about, which reflects in not understanding what we are saying, or you simply need to hire someone else who is more tech-savvy to assist you in translating what we are saying.

If you pull our PSU out, you will realize that it's not some complex cutout, but what you see in the screenshot it MOST of your PSU. Just pull the old one out and you'll see what we're saying.

I'ma second this, PSUs are meant to fit nearly everything. It's the one part of the computer where almost any PSU will work, there are SFF and Server PSUs, but you have a regular PSU and are looking at a regular PSU. Show us a pic of the back of your puter where the PSU was, else, it's gonna fit, and I second, TROLL POST! :)

We are trying to help you but if you don't understand what we are saying and are repeating yourself without illustrating to us where your confusion lies, how are we supposed to make it any clearer? Would you rather have everyone here just ignore you because you are just posting comments that are not helping us help you?

What you need to realize is that the opening on the back for the PSU is just a big hole. There are no separate cutouts for the PSU power cable, the fan, or anything else.

I didn't say it was a troll post but you are really pushing my button there. I, and a few others, have stated that it should fit. You either don't see it and you are not explaining to me why you fail to understand it or you don't believe me. Either way, there's nothing more that I can do for you so this will be my last post in this thread. I will untrack this thread and I will no longer partake in any further discussion in this thread.

I can see why angry dude is angry. There are very few very special occasions where PSUs don't match up, they actually build them that way, once you get more computer savvy you'll realise that there are only a few different types of each piece and unless you go out of your way to mismatch, you won't have a problem. Since you didn't go out of your way to mismatch the PSU to your computer, you're not gonna mess it up. Unplug everything, 4 screws, plug everything in, good to go. The types of PSU that wouldn't fit your machine are hard to find, you wouldn't be able to just google it and get the wrong one. It's not like your grandma buying you new clothes and sticking to sox cause one pair fits all. All the pants are stretchy and only the smallest or the very largest wouldn't fit. Here's how I know it will fit. You had to ask. If you didn't have to ask, you would know you had a server or SFF case that required something special. You have a regular computer. You put a regular PSU in it. They ALL fit. It's like with cars, if you're driving a Ferrari, you KNOW you have a Ferrari, if you bought the Toyota, you might now know which one or what size tires even though there are tons of tire sizes that will fit a given rim size. Here's the catch to that. The batteries are almost always the same size. With the exception of electric cars, I think there are two or three battery physical sizes, lotsa different amps, all 12 volts. Now I've gone too far.
