this is a build that I have been working on for a week and all im missing is the motherboard I need a good board for a 1k build and just something that I can improve with the build just let me know

and you will need to upgrade your psu to a 750 watt unit or better, you want atleast 100 watts more than required.

Is a cheap little board that does not offer a ton of features but will work with your build well enough while saving you money.

Unless you want a motherboard that offers SLI or Crossfire functions or something else that costs a bit more?

And do you need a cd/dvd drive?

The h81m is only up to 16gb and it's better if he chose the z97 has way more upgrade capabilities.

I know, which is why I was asking for some input. If he does not plan on going past 16 GB or SLIing or anything like that, then it could save him more than $100. And then later on he could purchase a new motherboard if he wanted, such as a z97 then for cheaper. So it really depends on what he wants to do right now and in the near future.
