It is "Better" than a core i3, and mainly the performance depends on the GPU any way (if the Pentium ever bottlenecks you just crank the eye candy up)

If you insist on getting a not-much-better CPU at the expense of GPU power

is powercolor a reliable manufacturer for gpu,cause they're always advertising gpu for lesser price than other manufacturers like xfx,asus,sapphire etc.and they don't get much reviews.processor should be core i5
