Uninstall XP. Install Windows 7.

Would the Windows 7 OS still be somewhere in the factory resetted Windows XP computer? I'm wondering if I could still somehow find it and use it again.

Did you buy the computer used?

Yes. When I got it, it came with Windows 7, but I used the factory reset and now it's back in Windows XP.

Then its likely the previous owner put windows 7 on it. They should have provided you with the install DVD if they left the OS installed. If not, you will need to get your own copy.

There is a small possibility, if your computer was purchased around the time Windows 7 was being released, that the manufacturer posted a method to upgrade the system on their web site. What's the make and model of your computer?

Aside from that, unless you have Windows 7 installation disks or a backup of your system, there is no way to go back.
