Ram Compatibily G Skill Ares

Solution
The mobo you picked is nice and i gotta say they both have a overclock button i would never recommend to use as the best overclock will always be done manually in the bios.

I say i would be jealous if you got the gaming 3 because MSI holds the 7.1ghz world record for Intel and 8.3ghz for AMD.

Yes, you'll be fine, it will work (it's listed as compatible with that motherboard on G.Skill's site). Plus whoever told you Ares RAM is "bad" doesn't know what they're talking about; there's a reason they have such good reviews, and have been recommended on this site.

The Ares are good sticks and will be perfectly fine...not sure what records are being talked about but Andre Yang hit 8.7 with a 8350 with a Crosshair about a year and a half ago, and ASRock hit 7.181 at Computex just a little over a week ago and the actual record for Intel I believe is still about 8.5 with a Celeron (of all things)

its probably some old records they are trying to ride on by leaving them posted.

i must have got lucky with my msi mobo. its not rated good at all for overclocking and i have even had it up to 4.7ghz for a few months. i like messing around with it lol but it stands strong.

i will check out some computex stuff.

If you get a good mobo they aren't bad at all - I just see to many of them that arrive DOA or have failures within 30-60 days, I have more mobo trouble calls on their mobos than any 2 other manufacturers put together and see more of it in the various forums...I myself (and most of the other builders and IT folks I network with just won't touch them....you don't make enough money building a rig to have to go back and tear a rig down, RMA it and rebuild it (not to mention providing a loaner during all this)....

Hmm, useful information. It's always good to hear from people with extensive first hand experience of products, so thanks for that.
