I just recently installed a MSI z87 gaming mobo, MSI GeForce gtx 770, 2x 4gb of rip jaws x memory, and an i5 4670k. I still have my old hard drive and optical drive in play. The computer turns on and boots up to the MSI bios screen. If I don't hit delete it attempts to start up the windows 7 ultimate which I previously had installed. As it is attempting to load windows it stops flashes a BSOD, and then returns to the bios again. It will then try booting up windows again but this time I get a repair utility that pops up. I have gone through this numerous times now and after it runs the repair I get a screen that windows can't fix this problem. I click finish and it turns off the pc. Are my only solutions to buy a new hard drive? I ask the gods of pc for your help. Thanks Ryan!

Then it's not booting from the CD.

Just as a test, disconnect the hard drive and try booting from the install CD. See what happens.

Have you set it to boot on the DVD drive using the BIOS settings?
