Windows 8 doesn't recognize my iPod Touch; I need to import my photos!

Hi! I've tried opening Device Manager on my Windows 8 laptop. At first, it doesn't show my iPod Touch, but when I choose "show hidden devices," it does. I tried updating the iPod drivers, but apparently I already had up-to-date drivers. I need to download photos from my iPod (it functions exactly like an iPhone in this respect, by the way), but I can't figure out how. By the way, iTunes opens automatically when I plug in my iPod, so the computer at least recognizes that. Any tips? Thanks!

Hi There

Maybe Windows 8 isn't assigning a disk letter to your iPod touch, if this is the case follow these simple steps as stated below;

1. Got your main menu or tile menu, search for "administrative tools" for 8.1 and under settings for Windows 8 Pro.

2. Click "Computer Management", select "Storage" and click "disk management"

3. You'll see a list of disks , select your iPod(device you want to assign a disk letter to) right click and select assign disk letter or change disk path to a preferred disk letter.

4. You should be up and running by now , if not let me know on this thread

I have the same problem and have done everything as recommended. The device does show up in Control Panel Devices, but will not show up in Explorer 8. In addition, you can't find it as a Drive in the device manager. Do you have any other ideas? Mike
