The title says it all. Will these two components work together?
The manufacturer of the motherboard does NOT list the vishera fx 8320 as a compatible CPU for this specific motherboard. It only lists the fx8320 PILEDRIVER. So I am very confused...

Mobo support list:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Pro3%20R2.0/?cat=CPU

CPU :http://www.evomag.ro/COMPONENTE-PC-Procesoare/AMD-FX-X8-Octa-Core-8320-92349.html

. I also read somewhere that I am going to need an bios update for it to work properly. Please answer this ASAP as I'm getting the CPU tomorrow , and If it's not compatibile I would like to cancel in time.

Here is how Anandtech describes Vishera:

At a high level, Vishera swaps out the Bulldozer cores from Zambezi and replaces them with Piledriver.

If you search Wikipedia for Vishera, it links to the Piledriver article.

If you already have the motherboard, search the ASRock site for the latest microcode and apply if before you swap out the processor. It's usually easier that way.

The motherboard is brand new, the processor I am buying is arriving tomorrow. I'm sorry about these dumb questions, but it's my first time building an AMD and I want to make absolutely sure everything goes fine. What do you mean by microcode? I don't think I can apply it since the processor is arriving tomorrow. Will I be able to boot the pc with the fx 8320 in it and update the microcode ? Or will that not work? Thanks for being so fast guys, I appreciate your help!

my bad. Microcode is the BIOS or UEFI firmware that comes on the mobo.

First install just the CPU with its' cooler and one stick of RAM. You should be able to boot up and into the UEFI. If that works, install all your other components and continue with the necessary updates and driver installs.

If it doesn't work, then follow the ASRock procedure for instant flash update of the UEFI/BIOS.

However, you should not need to. That is not a very recent BIOS and it is most likely that your mobo will already have it installed and will be current.

Ok , thank you very much. I was thinking you were talking about the BIOS version, just wasn't sure so I had to ask(not much else you could have been reffering to anyway).
I will reply to this topic tomorrow if everything went alright. One more thing, if everything runs ok the first time but my bios is out of date, should i still update it?

Thanks mate! Really grateful for your help :) Man intels are much easier, but AMD FTW!(amd fanboy) . Tomorrow I get the CPU, and rest of the parts ( already got the mobo and a R9 280 non -x ) and I'm putting em together.

It's on the list for the board.

They state you need a decent cooler.

I noticed that, but it said Piledriver and the website i bought it from said VISHERA , then @Someone Somewhere told me it's the same thing but vishera is the die size. I was simply confused and didn't want to break anything . Thanks for replying.

Yeah, i was planning on buying one, but until i get money im gonna run on stock. not going to overclock the cpu, so i think the stock will last me. i will overclock when i get an aftermarket one!

Ok, so after I finished builing the pc and have played around on it for a while i can confirm one thing : the stock fan was FUCKING LOUD.
So loud in fact, it reached 5000 RPM. I think it was trying to take off.
Now here comes the kicker : the temps were reaching up to 78 degrees celsius! I think that's quite bad, my dad says it's not and a computer specialist from the shop i bought my motherboard from says it's fine. I am still a little worried though. I did switch out the stock cooler for one that i had around the house(was an older stock from an AMD pc) , it's much much queiter, the temps are still the same though.

Is it normal for my cpu to get 78 degrees celsius while playing something like assassins creed 4? I have added 2 extra fans for airflow, one on the top of my case and one at the bottom. This didn't help almost at all though.
Any ideeas? Solutions?
I am out of money and I don't think I can squeeze more out of my dad to get a good cooler, especially since the dude at the IT shop told him it's fine .
