Hello,

I got a new mobo (cpu +++). I had an XFI XtremeGamer on my old pc and i was wondering if it is worth it to put it on my new mobo. Am i going to notice any difference at all ? Are the new onboard sound cards better than my (almost) 10 years old XFI ?

Thank you!

Yes your X-Fi card is better than any onboard, heck my old X-Fi card even sound better than the new BlasterZ card. I'm taking that card out and reinstalling my old X-Fi. This new BasterZ looks really nice but it won't drive my setup correctly, when both sys are on there is a 2sec delay on optical side. I have a Z5500 5.1 hooked up analog and optical running to my Yamaha receiver + 2.1 speakers. X-Fi card runs both without any problems and sounds better also.
