I installed an ASUS H87M Plus motherboard in an Antec Sonata lll 500 case. I’ve been using the system for a few days.
But on a bootup attempt yesterday, my ASUS motherboard gave the following message: "Power supply surges detected during the previous power on. Asus Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit." And I can never get passed this message. I can go into the BIOs, and set the default, but I still don’t get a successful bootup.
I talked with ASUS technicians, AND they indicated that I should first look at the power supply, as the culprit. Here are my questions: Is there something I can try to get the system to bootup?

Solution
Well, it sounds like a faulty power supply - if it is you'll need to get a new one ASAP - the mobo is doing a good job of protection itself from damage.

But first, try pluggin the computer into a different wall socket, just in case there's something going in with the electrics in your house (no offence, it happens)

(I presume you've carefully checked all the wiring inside your PC?)
