Hey everyone, this is my very first build, so I'm obviously a bit clueless about how to understand certain things in the process, namely whether or not all of my parts will be compatible. I'm fairly sure that I've made them all work, but I'd love it if someone would confirm that this build is satisfactory for gaming, and if you have any recommendations for how I could streamline the cost without losing much quality, that would be great!

Additionally, I'm still unsure about a case. Logical Increments recommended the Corsair 400R for a similar build to what I've got, but I've heard pretty mixed reviews from friends. What case would house all of my parts the best for an affordable price?
Thanks guys!

Are you looking for overclocking capability in the future? If not, here's what I would go with:
Added a case and still $100 under your build
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($184.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($76.66 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($76.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.00 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card ($335.91 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Antec Neo Eco 620W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($43.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
Wireless Network Adapter: Rosewill N600PCE 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Other: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ($110.00)
Total: $972.50
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The 200r is a great budget case. And the power supply is more than plenty to run everything
With that extra $100, I would suggest a 240GB SSD

Thanks for the advice! Do you think that the 256 gb SSD I've got in there is insufficient, or is it just a 'more the merrier' sort of deal? Also, I haven't heard much about ASrock compared to ASUS and Gigabyte. Is the quality comparable? Are there enough slots that I could add a bit more power later (maybe another gpu with sli? I really don't know how any of that works)?
Finally, you didn't include a HSU there. Does one come included that should be sufficient? It's really no issue for me to pick up something cheap like the EVO if it means that I'll be able to do a bit more with it later.

Everything there looks good, however I would suggest changing your power supply as the one you have selected looks a little pricey, you could try this one
As for cases I currently use a Fractal Design Define R4, its an excellent case with plenty of room. Might stretch your budget though but is definitely worth a look

That case is a little above what I was looking at, but I appreciate the tips, and I'll definitely look into that PSU. If I shave off enough cash there, I guess I could splurge for a nicer case.

Well i gotta ask one thing, what games will u be running and what will u use the computer for, and are u a first time pc gamer and if so u dont need this good of a setup, oh and by the way all components are compatible, and if u are a new gamer id like to give u some advice when u replyI'm a long time gamer, PC and previously console, but I've never really had a good rig for it before, so I've had to run things at the lowest settings. I'm really just looking for something that can run any current/next gen game at respectable levels.

If I were to build a system with a similar budget I would go with something like this. The motherboard supports SLI for future upgrades, also a combo deal with the i5-4670k which further brought the price down, its also will support the 5th generation processors.
Why did you deiced to go with the Rosewill N600PCE over the Rosewill RNX-N150PCe which is $10 cheaper?

I hadn't even noticed that it existed! Looking at them, they seem to be nearly identical-- would I be losing anything for the ten bucks?

Looking at them the Rosewill N600PCE has a higher max data rate of 300Mbps, but the Rosewill RNX-N150PCe has a max data rate of 150Mbps. Keeping in mind that this is Megabits per second not Megabytes, there are 8bits in one byte.
Furthermore the Rosewill N600PCE has two antennas so it will have further coverage. It all depends on what download speed you get in your area and how close you will be to the router.

In that case, I think I'd rather stick with the higher caliber adapter, even if it costs me a bit more. I don't have incredibly readily available wifi, so a bit more coverage would be appreciated.

Why would you recommend decreasing performance? This will get him Maxed out at 1080p. Why would you tell him to change to something he won't be able to do that with if he has the money for it?i was gonna give some deatils of a 760 he could use instead to save some money to be able to also max out some games while saving some cash.
