Broken Motherboard or RAM?

Hi! Whenever I boot my PC, it always gets stuck on the "Starting Windows" part. The only way I can fix it is by reinserting the RAM; but it doesn't always boot whenever I do so. I've also tried running it with one stick of RAM, same result. Is my problem with the motherboard or my RAM?

A flaky boot drive can stall trying to read a bad sector. Have you run diagnostics on the drive?

If the motherboard has a problem, it wouldn't start up. So it's either the operating system, the HDD, or RAM. Do you have multiple RAM modules? Try using one at a time and see if it's only a particular RAM module that is faulty.
