I recently upgraded my rig with
AMD FX 8350 n
MSI 970A-G46 MOBO
But after the installation of the processor my
gpu psu n processor if self getting hot n the
processor fan making so much noise n resulting
in turning off the pc.
So I google the prob n found it written by many
FX processor users that they r also having the
same prob, many users reviewed that the cooling
fan that comes with fx processors r of very poor
built so they have to buy a new cooler 'Cooler
Master Hyper 212X Cooling Fan' which helped
them a lot n their pc is working ok now.
So now my question is,should I also go for this
212X cooling fan or thermaltake contac 39 or u guys got any other solutions!!?
My config-
MSI MOBO
AMD FX PROCESSOR
ASUS GTX 650 2GB
Corsair vengeance 4GB RAM
FRONTECH 450WATT PSU
.
.
Reply pls

for minimum processor fan, get the evo 212. Should be like $30-40 and well worth it.

If your whole system is getting hot, you'll probably also need better/more case fans as well and make sure your case has adequate cooling.

One big thing though, is that your power supply is very very minimal and not a quality one at that. Depending on what your graphics card you could be very very close to going over. The cpu by itself is rated 125w, but can go all the way to 200's. Graphics cards go from 150-350w, and a 450w isn't really 450w. Depending on its efficiency. if its 80 bronze that means its 80% efficient. So a 450w 80 bronze is actually 360w. Now lets say yours is really 60% efficient, then your 450w is really 270w

That's a bit of a common misconception. In actuality the efficiency just means how much extra it's pulling from the wall, not how much it's losing. For example. 400w at 80% efficiency would be pulling 480w from the wall, gaining 80 as opposed to losing it. (Ie 320w). Well, I suppose it is still technically losing it, you can't use that extra 80w, it's wasted heat.
But still, the supply is a bit on the borderline side dude.

Edited because my math ability is shockingly dreadful.
