How do I know which graphics cards are compatible with my motherboard?

My mother board is Memphis-B
I currently have integrated IntelHD Graphics 4600 , but to my knowledge that will be disabled upon upgrading with a new one. I am new to this so any help would be appreciated :)

Your mother board has One PCI Express x16 slot (Gen 3.0) - you can put any graphics card on it.

You can only upgrade so far depending on the strength of your power supply and the size of your case.

Thanks! Any suggest on what to get around $200? I mainly play video games including World of Warcraft.

The R9-270 is currently the best card for under $200.
