so i just installed my new 4k monitor, which can run fine on 30 hz, but as soon as i turn it to 60hz, it starts flickering like crazy. Now i'm running a r9 290, and ofcourse its plugged into display port. when i go to the monitor options it says H-refreshrate is on 68 herz, and the V-refreshrate is on 30hz, (horizontal & vertical), im imagining that that is causing the flickering, does anybody know how to change this?

Well it's more than likely the 4K monitor you have doesn't support 60 Hz. I believe a lot of them are only 30 Hz.

Is it plugged in via HDMI? I don't think single cable HDMI supports 4K officially at more than 30hz (or 24hz maybe?)
