I have purchased a new desktop and also two new drives I wish to be in a raid 1 configuration (mirror). The system will be arriving next week. I don't wish to use the original drive for the OS, but want to install the Windows 7 Pro OS to the new raid configuration. Would like to use the existing license from the new system. I think this will involve a system recovery dvd and a backup DVD. Would like the steps involved to save me the time and money of purchasing a new license. Same everything, new hard drive. Instead of playing this by ear :) I want to get it straight before the system arrives. I "suspect" the new system has an OEM license and I do not expect to have a cd of the OS to re install to the new raid drives. How should I go about this? The new system will probably come virgin as in not setup yet. My guess is I need to go thru the setup and then make the system repair? and backup disks. No applications to move just the Windows operating system.

You won't have any issue using the same license.
You may run into issues with the raid. The recovery disk wasn't likely built to use raid, and may not have the raid drivers installed which may not allow it to boot properly. You may end up getting a regular Win 7 OEM disk, and just installing from it along with the raid drivers, and then once the OS is installed you would need to install all the drivers for the rest of the hardware.
