So I recently built a $2500 gaming rig with a 1200 watt power supply. I read somewhere that it would be a good investment to buy a surge protector. So I went down to my local Tigerdirect and asked them about this. Those guys seem to not know anything and of course are just trying to sell me things. They recommended I buy something called an Xfinity Pro Series Battery Backup Uninterruptible Power Supply 2000VA 1200Watts
Is this suitable for me needs? They're asking $200 for it which seems a little much to me.
